1.Overseas export of Japanese wood products and cooperation with Vietnam

The Marketing Research Consortium of the Platform for Research and Development of Wooden Outer Cover is working on the overseas export of timber products of "Hinoki", which is a representative tree of Japan.
Compared to other internationally distributed timber, Japanese HINOKI wood has better wood quality, is superior in antiseptic and anti-termite performance, has strength, and has a fragrance. Widely in demand for saunas, tableware, etc.
We are also working on exporting Japanese-style wooden energy-efficient housing technology that incorporates Hinoki wood products.
The Marketing Research Consortium is working to spread cypress wood products and Japanese-style wooden energy-saving housing technology in Southeast Asia, where economic growth is remarkable. In 2021, we launched the "Japan-Vietnam Wooden/Energy-Saving Housing Construction Project" consortium, established the Japan Hinoki Wood Promotion Association, and are expanding in Southeast Asia, mainly in Vietnam.
At the Japan-Vietnam Joint Review Committee held in August 2023, we confirmed the regulations of buildings in Vietnam and the performance that should be clarified when using wood. The participants shared their knowledge by inspecting Japanese-style energy-efficient wooden houses and a lumber mill that integrates the process of sawing raw lumber into wood products. We visited a lumber factory that consistently conducts the above, and shared knowledge. In addition, the 2nd Japan-Vietnam Joint Review Committee to be held in Hanoi in October 2023 will confirm on-site the climate and natural features of Vietnam, the recent lifestyles of Vietnamese people, home appliances used in houses, etc. At the VIETBUILD HOME 2023 INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION held in Ho Chi Minh City in December, we are planning to hold a seminar on Japanese-style energy-saving wooden housing technology required in Vietnam.
In 2023, we are working with the Research Institute of Forest Industry Vietnamese Academy of Forest Sciences, a Vietnamese research institute, to promote Japanese wood energy-saving housing technology in Vietnam.
We have a track record of the following efforts to spread Japanese wood products and Japanese-style wooden energy-saving houses overseas.
1 Participation in overseas exhibitions
2 Holding seminars overseas
3 Accepting overseas visitors to Japan
4 Accepting trainees from overseas
5 Conducting performance tests of Japanese wood products overseas
6 Development of products made from Japanese wood
7 Joint research and development related to energy conservation with overseas companies and research institutions
8 Supporting and participating in overseas projects
The number of business negotiations from overseas between 2021 and 2022 is more than 200.
We will cooperate with overseas companies and research institutes who wish to use Japanese wood products, develop new wood products, and spread Japanese-style wooden energy-saving houses and buildings.

Field for Knowledge Integration and Innovation (FKII) is recruiting overseas members who wish to collaborate with Japanese members, mainly in the fields of agriculture, forestry and fisheries and food.
